I'm in school to become an Elementary School teacher.

I also, am dying to get a tattoo on my wrist, probably 2x2" on my left wrist 1/2 being an outlined heart and the other half with a quote in the shape of the other side. (follow me?) if not look below.

My problem is my future. Will I get denied jobs, or will I be frowned down upon because of it? I know the kids will think it's cool, but the parents? The administrators? Ugh.

Where else do you think it'd look good on me?

getting a tatoo in a visible place will definately affect people hiring you.

IMO it is a bad plan.

I wouldn't get it on your wrist if you're planning on becoming an elementary school teacher. Try thinking of another place on your body, in which it would be much easier to hide the tattoo. Like on your ankle, thigh, hip, back, etc.

You might not be denied...but it will be frowned upon and you will be less likely to find a job in places where people are considered "high."

There will alwasy be that one person who dislikes it.

but they should really be looking into your personality and teaching abilities. Not what you have on your wrist. Also, it a rather tasteful tatoo so it shouldn't be too bad. Its not like its a naked woman or a tat of a dick or something.

It's a tough call but I think you have to choose if you would want to be part of an institution that doesn't support your creative expression.

It really depends on what type of school you are teaching for and ultimately what the principal is like.

Not to mention that tattoo would probably have to be way bigger than you'd like if you want the words to be distinguishable.

By high I mean elite...by elite I mean respectable...and we all know parents don't respect teachers if they aren't perfect...and tatoos= not perfect in culture just yet...so until tatoos are accepted by "elitists" will they be accepted in places where "knowlegable people" gather.

Per say...I know that's a heavily flawed way of thinking but I'm just offering the basic idea.
