If you have been wondering how to do something in Photoshop and not sure how to go about it, feel free to ask here. If and when I have time, I will make up a tutorial for it. Obviously there are many ways to do the same thing in Photoshop so this is what *I* would do.

Contents:

-Make your own brushes (Beginner)
-Make a spot color effect with colored images (Beginner / Advanced)

Happy Photoshopping!

Making your own brushes: Beginner

Step One:

Select the square marque tool from your tool bar.

Step Two:

Click and drag a box around the shape or image you wish to make into a brush.

Step Three:

Go to: Edit > Define Brush Preset..

Step Four:

Name your brush, then press OK.

*DONE*

You have created your brush! You can find your brush at the bottom of your brush library and can use it just like any of the other brushes.

Personally, I find it a MILLION times better for me to just sit down and figure it out myself... For God's sakes, its a GUI. Its supposed to be self explanatory....

Or wait... I could be wrong. If the software maker programs some incredebly complex tool, then they could make a tutorial, and become ever richer. It all makes sense now...

But yea... thats a nice WindowBlinds skin you've got there.... That program always screws up my computer for somereason...

HEY BUDDY, I made this topic to help LiveWire members with their specific questions about Photoshop. PLEASE, don't tell me it can't a pain and incredibly frustrating to try to find a Photoshop tutorial for your specific situation. Furthermore, I am NOT doing this for money.

I can EASILY say that I know more about Photoshop than you but that does not mean you know a different way to accomplish the same job. You can ALWAYS learn something new about Photoshop and it never hurts to get help, tips or tricks from someone else.

I would appreciate it if you would stop spamming my topic and move on with your life. Thank you.

What a great tutorial Scott!  I definitely think finding things like this online can be very difficult.

Make a spot color effect with colored images: Beginner / Advanced

Starting image:

Step One:

Select the layer image you wish to edit in the Layers Palette. Then go to: Layer > New Adjustment Layer > Hue/ Saturation...

Step Two:

Name your new style layer and check Use Previous Layer to Create Clipping Mask. Then press OK.

Step Three:

A new Hue/ Saturation window will pop-up along with the layer mask in your Layers Palette. Slide the Saturation bar all the way to the left (-100) then press OK. Your colored image will become grayscale.

Step Four:

Make sure your new style mask layer is still selected. Choose your Paint Brush tool set with black. When you are working with a layer mask, black erases the mask away and white paints it back in so when you start painting over the image with black, you are erasing the style mask layer, revealing the image's original colors.

*DONE*

The best part about this method is that it is totally reversible. All you need to do is hide your new style layer mask and all your original colors come back!

Continued:
You can also take it one step further and change the colors of the flowers. Make sure you select the original image layer and then repeat steps One and Two. This time, instead of changing the Saturation, slide the Hue bar until you get the colors you want. How about some blue and purple?
