If I want to join the Hillel on my college campus (an organization for Jewish students and faculty), is it a requirement that I be ethnically or religiously Jewish?
I worked at the JCC and I live in a largely populated Jewish community. I am simply interested in joining to learn more.... Is that acceptable or strange to Jewish students in the organization?

I don't think so.
I know at least at Chapman, non-Jews are allowed to go to Hillel events. Whether or not they can be actual members, I don't know.
Ask the college you're going to and find out.
