So, I like this girl.  I'm pretty sure she likes me back.  The thing is, we aren't exactly on the same "popularity strata."  She hangs out with the popular crowd (loud, rowdy, attractive for the most part), and I hang around with the less-popular people...

I'm skeptical to ask her out because I'm hesitant and wary that I won't "fit in" with her group of friends (which is basically the whole school) ... and for some reason, I she thinks that I'm on the same level as her, but I'm not ... which means if we did go out, she would realize how socially awkward I am around people I don't particularly know

ugh ...  any suggestions?  and if you were wondering, this girl is completely worth asking out, but these thoughts have been plaguing me for some time

your pretty sure she likes you right....no better way to break the ice then to ask her how she is how her day is going then get to personal questions make her feel like shes special and that your interested in her.

i was in that sorta situation once..but I hang out with everyone I could care less if they're popular or not.. but bro you should be focusing on HER and HER only, and once you and her are settled, be yourself around her "popular" friends, don't start actin all fake and actin like you know them n what not and actin like you're mr. big when you clearly know you're not, and she'll like you for being you, hell she might even have less interest in her popular friends if you simply show her the real you that totally blows her away.. screw fitting in, be youu.

You are making mole hill into a mountain.  "Popularity Strata" is a really goofy place to put yourself in.  Forget about it and focus your attention on her by making her feel she is the most important and special person in the world.
