Holy F#$%. Last night, I'm pretty sure I had my first run in with Sleep Paralysis. It was the single most terrifying moment of my life. Here's the story... I realize that I'm awake, but that I have no control over my perception. It was like I was lucid and conscious, but at the same time I was dreaming, and couldn't control my consciousness. I know I'm sitting in my bunk, but I feel like I'm laying on the ground, in a very confined space and I had something important in my hand. When I dropped it, or perceived that I dropped it, I tried to get up to pick it up... but I couldn't. I realized that I couldn't move at all.
At this point, I freaked the fuck out. When I couldn't move, I thought I heard my roommates yelling in their sleep for me to move away from whatever they were terrified of. I even started to yell because I was so fucking panicked, but I couldn't make any sound come out. After a few seconds of complete paralysis and terror, all of a sudden my roommates stopped yelling, my perception cleared, and I was able to bolt upright.
Jesus, that was insane. Had to write it down somewhere.
