I just found this website which has a good video about how Britain is becoming a police state.

I'm sure if you live here, you will realise how many new laws have been past since 'new labour' came into power. Numerous changes to curriculum and taxes have pushed freedoms and rights to minimal proportions.

We should lobby for policemen to leave the force and stop this growing fascist state.

Britain's, do you agree?

That first scene with the officers stopping that man from getting off the bus kinda freaks me out, I'd go apeshit over that.

Don't roll your eyes, arrogant bastard.

It works the same as not buying fuel from one main petrol company to lower aggregate pricing.

If police leave, to force a change in 'terrorism' laws, the government will not have enough power to control demonstrations and will be forced to act in the peoples favour.

Haha. That website is hilarious, and from a guy with some serious issues.

Perhaps you don't understand how terrorism works. People get big bombs, and blow the shit out of you. Whilst I disagree with the 48 days detention idea, I still support the majority of laws passed as part of counter terrorism bills.

But you don't dare unlock the door and look in.

LMAO. We have some teenage kid suggesting all police should be made to leave, yet I'm the arrogant one? And what exactly do you think Britain would do without police officers?

I'm still watching the whole video, I'm having to have a cardboard box handy to pummel when scenes get so ridiculously fascist I can't bear to watch.

Can you not read, shall I dumb it down?

No police. No enforcement. No protection for the government (nor the people, but they will take that risk). Government will panic for their safety. Is forced to meet the peoples demands.

I love how you just slipped that sentence in there in brackets as if you didn't really think it was important. So you really think the main reason we have police is for protection of the government?

You, being from the USA, will see it that way, yes.

Living in the UK its easy to see that the police are no longer on the peoples side, they are not our protection, they are our watchmen.

Please take an unbiased view before throwing insults around.

All of these crimes are now slapped with fines, fines which fund the police force and the government, no longer are criminals punished for their crimes in imprisonment or community service, they are simply fined, heavily. This no longer serves the victim or punished the culprit, simply benefits the government.

If you feel the police are no longer offering you protection, you only have yourself and other hippies like you to blame. It is the constant whining of the PC and the Human Rights brigades that have made things easy for the criminals at the the expense of the public. The police have been forced into the position they are in exactly because of the type of bullshit you are posting in this thread.
